The Beginning

I talk… A LOT.. and I’ve come to realize that quite often I actually have interesting things to say. Shocker, I know. ;-) I also love to cook, especially bake, and I love to share pictures of those things I make. As the years have passed, I’ve had an increasing number of people tell me that I should start a blog… and so here I am. I’m starting a blog – for real this time!  (Please refer to my failed attempt from 2011 – or don’t. lol)

In 2011, I wasn’t really sure what my end-goal was going to be and I didn’t really know what type of content I wanted to include. This time around, I’m 100% certain I want my blog to mainly be focused on food (read: desserts), but I will also likely include some personal stories here and there, plus maybe some product reviews and such.

While I admire those food bloggers that include step-by-step pictures of the food they create, it’s just too time consuming and I’d rather be able to provide you with more content in a more succinct manner. I’m merely going to focus on pictures of the end result, the recipe and maybe some hints/tips along the way.

For those of you unfamiliar with my original 2011 blog, I’d like to include a quick story that explains the title of my blog since it’s clearly not food-related. When I was a kid (and even today) it was an ongoing joke in my family that my dad would try to “mute” me with the remote control, but as I think we can all figure out it just didn’t work (much to his frustration). Instead he would get “the look” from me, and I’m quite certain that’s where my signature “look” first originated. :) I’ve tried over the years to work on summarizing things and to tell stories straight away instead of going completely around, but I’ve come to realize that’s just not me. I’d like to think most people in my life have come to appreciate that side of me, but the reality is they’ve likely just learned to accept it. ;-) Either way, it’s a side of me that isn’t going away anytime soon and so I might as well make use of it!

So with that being said, I welcome you on this journey of mine and I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I know I will!
